Jamestown, Ohio. Don Nock Field was the site for the annual Greeneview High School Powder Puff Football Game between the Junior and Senior girls. The game took place on Thursday November 19, 2009. After a hard fought but scoreless first half marred by turnovers, the seniors were able to break through with a scoring run by Alexis Mickle half way through the second half to take a 6-0 lead. Later, with about three minutes to go Senior Shaytell Furman circled left end to up the lead to 12-0. The Juniors fought back with a seventy yard run by Chelsea Brown with 2:30 left on the clock to cut the lead to 12-6. Unfortunately for the Juniors, the clock ran out with the Seniors holding on to a well earned 12-6 victory. Special kudos go out to the Senior cheerleaders for their unusual but spirited halftime performance.

One of the topics is Note Taking Skills. The teachers had to answer the question, “What do I do in the classroom to help students take notes? Spanish Teacher Amy Engle gave her students a file folder of notes on “The Day of The Dead” which they were to organize in a creative manner. The students were to use the notes to study for a major test, which was the culminating activity.

GHS Announces November Students of the Month
Rylee Woods, Savanah Brown, Miranda Webster, Derek McClure and Tim Hull all share the honor of being designated November 2009 Students of the Month at Greeneview High School. Students were selected by secret ballot by the entire faculty of the school. Freshman Rylee Woods quickly got involved in high school activities playing soccer for the Rams. He is a great student and excellent role model. He has a great work ethic and is an all around great young man. Sophomore Savanah Brown is a hard working, diligent student. She is also a good athlete. Sophomore Miranda Webster volunteered her time two weeks before school started to come into the office and help. She was willing to do whatever was asked of her, and she did it with a smile. Junior Derek McClure has been very busy this year with football, band, Sensations Show Choir, drama and his studies. He is also active in his church. He is able to be involved in Sensations and football with his brother, Connor. During the half time he doesn’t go to the locker room. He is on the field with his fellow band members performing with the band. He gives up a lot of his Saturdays during band season to perform in contests also. He not only gives up his time, but all the practice time it takes to participate in band, drama, Sensations, and football. This leaves little time for him to rest. Derek is very conscientious about his studies. He comes to study hall every day with work and continues working after the bell has rung. Senior Tim Hull is the tech crew chief for the video communications class. He faithfully comes to school early everyday and sets up the equipment for video announcements. He is trustworthy, knowledgeable and helpful.
