20 years experience as a full time professional photographer has been an amazing adventure. I have worked closely with schools, churches, charities, and other organizations to assist them in raising funds for numerous causes. Wedding and portrait photography was a long time speciality. Still my passion for being a photojournalist was never satisfied as a studio/wedding business owner. Covering the Presidential Candidates through Ohio stoked my passions to a new high.

Majoring in Journalism at Ball State University, I realized I wanted a higher standard of living than what the average earnings a media photographer could earn. My Business / Economics major was great for running my own photography business after my tour in the military. Forward looking I returned to school to earn a Masters in Computer Science anticipating the digital revolution in photography.

Relocating to Dayton has opened up new opportunities for me to persue my desire to work as a photojournalist. Sites like this are where I pretend I have an event to cover and work to beat a deadline with photos and stories. I finally found a day job that allows me to be out selling advertising for a local newspaper, which was the good way to begin learning about working in the media. I do cover the High School sports for the paper, submitting a few images from the game I am asked to cover for no pay. I have the smugmug site to offer these photos to the school students and families.

I enjoy all sports and sporting events. I like the seeing the good play and arm chair quarterbacking.

Favorite places:
Quiet places, with my camera on a tripod, GPS around my neck, listening to the sounds in the national forests. Demanding places, hiking, depending only on the things you can carry with you... wondering if I have enough battery power for my camera to endure the length of the planned hike, did I bring the right lenses, do I have enough film... essensial things.

Favorite stuff:
I'm married to Mrs. Awesome, I have fun teenage children that I trust, pets that sometimes mind, cars, sports of any sort, hiking, camping, bicycling, creating photographs of the amazing places I have been.
